The Sales Support function is responsible for ensuring that the Sales & Marketing departments/personnel have the tools, resources, and systems they need to achieve current and future sales revenue targets. Particularly within SME`s there are frequently holes and gaps in a sales support function which causes the sales pipeline to leak. It is therefore important to have all the bases covered. From a lone owner/sales person right thro to the integration of sales and marketing departments (which if not done correctly can result in a major breach of flow) need to have that vital backup. Also ask the questions of job roles are they maximising sales personnel's time to match their skills because usually administration and detail are not one of them !
